Dopraváci v doprave is a project for a free bicycle rental service for students of secondary schools and universities in Košice. It was prepared by students of the Secondary Technical School of Transport in Košice, who focused on a current problem: improving the air quality in the city. The project aims to find an ecological solution for public transport.
The core idea is a bicycle rental point at the Main Station in Košice for students, using ISIC student cards for identification, which should make travelling around the city faster and simpler during rush hour. In this way the team wants to contribute to the development of ecological transport.
The rental service will be run by the students themselves, who would like their project to encourage the city of Košice, and possibly the business sector, to cooperate. At the moment they need to develop a bicycle coding system, build it into ISIC cards and obtain space from the city at the Main Station.
The students presented the project together with visualisations during the 4th round of the competition of innovative ideas of Startup center TUKE, where they are currently developing it further.
