PolicySim helps citizens and policymakers understand the real trade-offs behind environmental policies. Instead of traditional surveys, long reports, or static spreadsheets, PolicySim places users in the role of a city mayor who must balance ecological indicators such as air quality, vegetation, temperature, budget constraints, and public approval while implementing climate and sustainability policies. What makes PolicySim unique is its use of real-world environmental data and projections sourced from the EU Copernicus satellite program, so that in-game outcomes reflect realistic scenarios rather than abstract assumptions. By compressing complex climate data into an engaging strategy-game experience inspired by popular city-building games, PolicySim educates users while simultaneously collecting informed, high-quality feedback for policymakers and institutions. The platform is designed for universities, research institutions, municipalities, and organizations involved in sustainability and carbon offset strategies that need educated public input and awareness. We aim to bridge the gap between scientific climate data, policymaking, and public awareness which will make environmental decision-making accessible, engaging, and relevant in an era of limited attention and widespread misinformation.
